Mike Missiaen is the Director of Teacher Training at Levered Learning. Most days, you can find Mike supporting teachers as they use Levered throughout the school day, providing customer support, creating new content for the Support Center, and teaching educators how to best use Levered.
Mike lives in San Francisco, California where he counts the views among the best things about his city.
"It seems like every time I take a long walk, I come across an extraordinary view of the bay, a landmark, or the skyline that I haven't seen before."
5 Quick Questions with Mike:
What did 10-year old Mike want to be when he grew up? I wanted to be an inventor. I recall thinking that the world needed a personal tunneling machine that moved around as fast as a car. Never did get around to drawing up the designs for that.
What do you do for fun? I love to go backpacking in the wilderness. If I could trade places with anyone, it would be with someone who was retired, healthy, and lived in a cabin in the woods.
Is there anything that surprised you while working on the Levered team? I've been surprised by how much a small team can do! All of us at Levered have gotten used to wearing many, many different hats.
*What books are you reading right now? * I’m currently reading "Facing the Mountain: A True Story of Japanese American Heroes in World War II" by Daniel James Brown.
*Do you have a favorite food? * I like so many things, it's hard to choose one, but if pressed I'd go with a carnitas burrito.
